When the Brookline Fire Department lost one of their own on December 4, 2024, the community rallied to support the family of their beloved firefighter. Richard "Richie" Gillis, who served the Brookline FD faithfully for over 25 years, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind two children. College Hype was happy to answer the call by creating a dedicated online store benefiting the firefighter's loved ones.
The online store features custom-designed memorial t-shirts, hoodies, and hats bearing the Brookline FD emblem and commemorative graphics. These items are crafted at our Weymouth factory where our printing operation ensures quality production for such a great cause.
What makes this initiative particularly meaningful is that 100% of proceeds support the fallen firefighter's family, specifically funding their journey to the Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Colorado Springs. This national monument honors the sacrifice of firefighters across the country, providing families with a sacred place for remembrance and healing.
The response has been overwhelming, with orders coming in from across Massachusetts and beyond. College Hype's fulfillment system has managed the surge efficiently, ensuring timely processing and shipping.
